Welcome to Le Forum

For years, my niece Chris Culos and I talked of creating something meaningful, something novel, together. We wanted our 'something' to help young people  consider the world they've inherited.
Chris is an inspired, adventuresome graphic artist and I’m a semi-retired teacher with a history of using simulation and role play in the classroom.
It’s not surprising, then, that we settled on an ‘out of this world’  simulation program. Our goal - to inspire essential conversations among middle-school students, from the safe distance of an exoplanet - took hold quickly and established a life of its own.  Together, Chris and I wrestled it down and selected: natural disasters, forced evacuation, mass migration and the power of empathy, connectedness, innovation and hope.
After 2 1/2 years of researching, writing, rewriting, formatting and pulling hair, Chris and I knew that our simulation was ready for a test drive.
Allison Knowles teaches at École Banting Middle School in Coquitlam, BC. She agreed to set up her schedule so that I could pilot Kepler’s STARS for ninety minutes, once a week, in each of her two Grade 6/7 classes. What an amazing and gratifying experience!
